主讲人简介：

Jacques Ganoulis is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). He holds a PhD (Doctorat d’Etat) from the University of Toulouse (France) and has been a visiting scholar at the Universities of Erlangen (Germany), McGill (Canada), Melbourne (Australia), and Paris VI, (France). He is an internationally well-known expert on groundwater and surface water resources management and the director of the UNESCO Chair/International Network of Water-Environment Centres for the Balkans (INWEB) on “sustainable management of water and conflict resolution”. The UNESCO Chair/INWEB is a network of academic and non-academic institutions from the 10 Balkan countries, which concentrates mainly on transboundary water issues and cooperates closely with UNESCO’s International Hydrological Programme.

Prof. Ganoulis’s research interests mainly include engineering risk analysis, fuzzy ecological modelling, floodplain management, marine pollution and coastal circulation, as well as the integrated management of internationally shared water resources. He has published more than 180 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings, is the editor of 10 books including Transboundary Water Resources Management: Institutional and Engineering Approaches (SPRINGER, 1996) and is the author of the book Risk Analysis of Water Pollution (WILEY-VCH, 1994; 2nd edition, 2009; translated into Chinese).
